Uninvited, 2024
Uninvited is a self-portrait series exploring the language imposed on fat women. Each phrase, written on my fat body, comes from real comments. Many are offered as advice, concern, even kindness, but they leave marks all the same. I wanted to confront viewers with the body they’ve been taught to look away from and the words they too easily speak, always uninvited.
