Conformity, 2024
Conformity is a self-portrait series about the violence of beauty standards. The ways we bend, stretch, and break ourselves to fit what was never made for us. We have to mangle and disfigure our bodies to fit into modern standards and expectations until it was something that is no longer ours. The series examines how the pursuit of beauty is itself an act of erasure and how the male gaze destroys what it claims to adore.
